Thomas Phibel

Thomas Phibel (born 21 May 1986 in Les Abymes[1]) is a French footballer. He currently plays for Royal Antwerp.

Career

A central defender, Phibel played in the season 2008/2009 for FC Brussels on loan from Standard Liège in Belgium.[2] He has made two Belgian First Division appearances for Standard Liège.[3]

Personal life

Phibel hails from Les Abymes in Guadeloupe.[4] In November 2008, he caused a deadly accident on the turnpike of Dutch city Maastricht. A judge sentenced Phibel to two years imprisonment on August 4, 2010, for causing the accident, speeding and driving under the influence.[5]
